I Charles Davis of the County of Henry and State of Virginia
Being sick and weak but in my perfect senses and memory and learning
that it is appointed once for man to die do make and _____ This my
last will and testament as touching my worldly Estate in manner and
_____ following, first that all my just debts as far as the law Charge
be truly paid by Executors hereafter named, Secondly I bind unto my
Beloved wife Ann Davis all the _____ of my Estate both real and
personal of every part whatsoever during her widowhood, Then I give unto
my son Moses Davis one Shilling Sterling to him and his heirs forever
and no more, Then I give unto my daughter Rachel Davis one
Shilling Sterling to her and her heirs forever, and no more, Then I
give unto my son Isaac Davis one Shilling Sterling to him and his
heirs forever and no more, Then I give unto my daughter Lydia
Murphy
one Shilling Sterling to her and her heirs forever, and no
more, I give also unto my son Joshua Davis one Shilling Sterling to
him and his heirs forever, and no more, Then I give unto my
Daughter Elenor Davis the feather bed and furniture one of the
Pewter dish, four Pewter plates, one of my largest pewter basons
and one Cow and Calf already in her possession, Then I give unto
my son Benjamin Davis one feather bed and furniture, also my
Rifle gun, one large pewter dish, four pewter plates and one large
pewter bason, Then I give unto my son Thomas Blackburn Davis
one feather bed and furniture The oldest bed I lie in, one large
deep Pewter dish, four Pewter plates and one _____ pewter bason. To
Each and every of them and their heirs as afore named forever, Then
I give unto my son Peter Davis the tract of land whereon I now live
Containing by Estimation one hundred and fifty five acres _______
and one fourth acres purchased of Joseph Townlin and Conveyed by
Shadrick Dent, also one shot gun, also one new feather bed and furniture,
also one pair large ______, also two potts, also one pewter
Dish and four pewter plates, also one pewter bason, Then I give unto
my daughter Ann Davis one feather bed and furniture known by
the name of the new bed, also one pewter dish, one pewter Bason
and four pewter plates, Then it is further my will and last testament
that whenever my beloved wife Ann Davis should entermarry
or die that al my personal estate of every kind whatsoever shall be
divided in the following manner that is to say such of my Estate
as is already not bequesthed by this my last will to be divided by
my Executors hereafter named in the following manner that is
to say an Equal dividend of the same be made between my sons
Benjamin Davis, Thomas Blackburn Davis, Peter Davis and my
Daughter Ann Davis to them and their heirs forever, with this reserve
that should my son Peter Davis die without heir that in such
case the land bequesthed in this my last will to Peter Davis
My son is to be equaly divided between my sons Benjamin Davis
and Thomas Blackburn Davis their heirs ___ hereby revoking and
Dis[charg]ing all other will or wills heretofore by me made and I do
further name and appoint my well beloved wife Ann Davis
Executrix and my son Peter davis Executor of this my last will
and testament as witness my hand hand and Seal in the 27th year
of the Commonwealth---this 6th day of March 1803----

AT Court held for Henry County at the Courthouse on the 27th day of July 1807.  The ___ last will and testament of Charles Davis was Executed in Court and proved by the oaths of two of the subscribing witnesses there to and the ___ ___ ___ ___ by the Court to be deceased and Peter Davis the Executor and Ann Davis the Executrix there in named made oath and with Shadrick Dent and John Cahill their securities entered unto Bond and as Lnown Legate [the same as the] ___ Certifycate was therefore granted them for obtaining probate thereof in Due form.
