July 3rd 1815 this is to certify that we are willing that our Daughter Margaret McSwain shall obtain license to Marry Isaac Davis.

Know all men by these presents that we Isack Davis William Harris ------------ are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just sum of fifty pounds current money of Kentucky to which payment well and truly to be paid, we bond ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presents Sealed with our seal and dated this 3 rd day of July 1815.
The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas thereis a matrimony Shortly intended to be had and Solomnized between the above bound Iasaac Davis and Margarett McSwayn both of the County of Madison, if there be one lawfull cause to obstruct the Same, thery this obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
