To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:
KNOW YE, That by virtue and in consideration of two warrants from the Madison
County Court, there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Enos Davis
a certain tract or parcel of Land, containing Seventy four
Acres, by
survey, bearing date the 12th
day of December one thousand eight hundred
and forty eight
lying and being in the County of Madison on the waters
Silver Creek and bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at a white oak and
black locust corner to a 50 acre Survey made in the name of Kiah Creek now belonging to
Levi Moore thence S30W38 poles to two white oaks thence S5E36 to two large chesnut oaks thence S80W64 poles to
2 buckeyes on a north hill side a corner of said corner of said survey thence
new lines S11E26 poles to a large chesnut on a hill side corner to James Dowden 50
acres thence S75E8 poles to a red oak and beech on a ridge thence N22E13 poles to a large white oak N16E16 poles to
2 dogwoods and white oak N78E10 poles to a poplar on a east hill side thence S89E14 poles to
a dogwood S54E20 poles crossing Bobbys fork of Silver Creek to a sugartree and white oak thence
S48E34 poles to a black oak and black walnut on a north hill side thence N56E28 poles to a black gum W71E22 poles
to a hickory on a bank and on a line of Michael Dowdens 50 acres thence with his lines
N45W23 poles to an ash and beech marked a [new] thence N18E20 poles to a spanish oak beech and
2 buckeyes on the right hand fork of Bobbys fork of Silver Creek the beginning corner of said
Dowdens 50 acres thence N30E114 poles to a white oak and maple another corner of said
50 acres thence a new line S74W127 poles to the Beginning
With its appurtienances: To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land, with its
appurtenances, to the said
Enos Davis
and his heirs forever.
