This Indenture made this twenty eighth day of February anno domini one thousand seven hundred and seventy four between James Hudgens of the Parish of Littleton and County of Cumberland on the one part and of above [Wm. Weatherford, names does not appear here] and County of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Hudgens for and in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand by the said Wm. Weatherford the receipt whereof he the said James Hudgens doth hereby acknowledge himself granted Bargained sold aliened ___ and confirmed unto the said Wm Weatherford and his heirs forever on certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the Parish and County aforesaid at the head of Muddy Creek containing two hundred and thirty acres and bounded as follows to wit Beginning at Pointers ___ ___ William Talyor and ___ thence John Robinson north two hundred and seventy three poles to pointers thence on William Holliday west one hundred and forty two poles to pointers thence on William May the same course continued twenty four poles to pointers south two hundred and twenty three poles pointers and thence on Wm Talyor east one hundred and sixty poles to the first station containing the aforesaid Two hundred and thirty acres of land to have and to hold the said tract of Land and all singular the priviliedges and appertaining unto the said Wm Weatherford and his heirs forever to the only proper use and be ___ of the Wm Weatherford heirs and assigns forever and the AJames Hudgens the above sold land and premises unto the said Wm Weatherford his heirs and assigns against the Claim and ___ and of him ___ and James Hudgens his heirs and assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever shall and will Warrant and forever defend In Witness where of the said James Hudgens hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written
