This Indenture ___ the thrid day of June 1829 between Samuel Hatcher of the County of Cumberland of the one part and James Hudgins of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel Hatcher for and in the Consideration of one hundred ninety one dollars and 33 cents Current money to him in hand paid by the said James Hudgens the receipt whereof __ is hereby acknowledge by the said Samuel Hatcher and he have covenanted granted bargain sold and confirmed and by these presents do convenant grant bargain Sell and confirm unto the said James Hudgins and to his heirs and assigns forever a parcel of land in the aforesaid county of Cumberland containing thirty nine and half acres of land and bounded as followeth to wit beginning at pts on Mrs. Austion and running S14E112 poles pts on A. Frayser S204E32 poles pointers Red Oak S59W12 poles to Douglass path S77W72 poles pts on Wm. Flippen N12 poles W30 poles to ___ N11W40 poles ___ S84 1/2 W69 1/4 poles on Mrs. Austin thence N20 E39 7/8 poles to beginning To have and to hold the same granted and sold Land with its appurtenances thereunto and the said Samuel Hatcher for himself his heirs and assigns do hereby warrant and defend the right ___ interest and Claim of the aforesaid 39 1/2 acres of Land to be indefensible good in fee simple unto the said James Hudgins unto his heirs and assigns forever from the Claim demand of all persons or any person whatever. At a Court held for Cumberland County the 23rd day of November 1829. The forgoing Indenture of bargain and sale was presented in Court and acknowledged by Samuel Hatcher a party thereto to be his act and deed and thereupon the same was ordered to be recorded
