To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:
KNOW YE, That by virtue and in consideration of a warrant
from the Rockcastle
County Court, there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Joshua Davis
a certain tract or parcel of Land, containing one hundred
Acres, by
survey, bearing date the 6th
day of October one thousand eight hundred
and forty eight
lying and being in the County of Rockcastle
on the head waters of Big Clear Creek, adjoining a survey in the name of Isaac Davis and a
survey of 100 acres in the name of John R. Kimbrell, also adjoining 140 acres in the
name of John D. Roberts and bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at a chesnut
and dogwood one of Isaac Davis old corners, to ___ ___ which includes his
his late Residence thencewith one of his old lines W23 poles to another of his corner
at a poplar and chesnut also corner of Kimbrell 100 acres aforesaid thence south his
line S19E95 poles to a white oak poplar and hickories at the ___ of a hill S65W80 poles
to a poplar and white oak on a point of a ridge thence S60W38 poles to a poplar and Chesnut corner
to Roberts 640 acres aforesaid thence with his line N85E126 poles to a sycamore
sugartree and spanish oak S45E64 poles to a white oak and hickory N65E45 poles to a
sugartree on a bank N35E35 poles meandering w branch to two sugartrees E71 poles to a
hipple buck and beech thence N20E55 poles to a buckeye and beech the foot of a hill thence
N50E20 poles to a hickory and buch on the side of a hill in a line of 200 acres survey ___

With its appurtienances: To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land, with its
