GOVERNOR OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY:
To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:
KNOW YE, That by virtue and in consideration of a warrant from the
Rockcastle
County Court, there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Joshua Davis
a certain tract or parcel of Land, containing one hundred
Acres, by
survey, bearing date the 28th
day of April one thousand eight hundred
and fifty
lying and being in the County of Rockcastle on the waters
of Clear Creek adjoining to a former survey in the name of said Davis and bounded
as followeth to wit, Beginning at a chesnut and dogwood corner to a survey of 100 acres
in the name of Isaac Davis and includes the place where he formerly lived thence
with a line of said Joshua Davis former survey aforesaid S33 East 200 poles to two
white oaks and small spotted oak near the end of a ridge and where his former Call is
for a stake thence N24 East 190 poles to a black oak and 3 beeches at one of Isaac Davis
old corners of a 200 acre survey thence S85 W180 poles to the Beginning (Registered 11th Nov 1851)
With its appurtienances: To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land, with its
appurtenances, to the said
Joshua Davis
and his heirs forever.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, The said Lazarus W. Powell Esq.
Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the seal
of the Commonwealth to be affixed, at Frankfort, on the 4th
day of May in the year of our Lord, on thousand eight hundred
and fifty one and of the Commonweath, the
