Esq Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings Know ye that by virtue and in consideration of a Kentucky Land office warrant No.5863 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto William Roberts and Moses Davis assee of William Hooten a certain tract or parcel of Land containing fifty acres by Survey bearing date thirtieth day of July 1821 lying and being in the County of Rockcastle on the waters of Crooke Creek including an Improvement made by Abedingo Sanders in a Valley Known by the name of Creares Valley and bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at a white oak black oak and Locust standing on the side of a hill about forty poles West of said Sanders House thence North eighty two East fifty poles crossing the Valley to a white oak thence South ten East one hundred and eight poles to a hickory and spanish oak thence South fifty five East thirty poles to a white oak and dogwood thence South thirty West seventy five poles to a dogwood thence North twenty West one hundred ninety four poles to the Beginning with its apputenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said William Roberts [this is not a misstake, Moses Davis' name is not listed at the end of the document] and his heirs forever In witness whereof the said John Adair Esq Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hath hereunto set his hand and caused the seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Frankfort on the third day of May In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two and of the Commonwealth the thirtieth
