Guardianship Bond, Poindexter Smith, for Elizabeth and Thomas H. Hudgens

At a Court held for Buckingham County at the Courthouse on Monday the 13th day of February 1837
The Court doth appoint Poindexter P. Smith guardian of Elizabeth Hudgens and Thomas Hudgens orphans of Thomas Hudgens deceased, Thereupon the said Poindexter P. Smith with Garland Brown his security entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of three thousand dollars with the condition according to law

Know all men by these presents that We Poindexter P. Smith and Garland Brown are held and firmly bound unto Edmd Glover Sanderson Moseley Theod C. Gannaway and Thomas F Flood Justices of the Court of the County of Buckingham now sitting in the sum of three thousand dollars current money of Virginia: to which payment will and truly to be made to We the said Justices and their successors, We bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators pointly and severally firmly by these presents, Sealed with our seals and dated this 14th day of February 1837. The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Poindexter P. Smith who hath this day been approved guardian of Elizabeth Hudgens Thomas H. Hudgens orphans of Thomas Hudgens deceased by the Court of the said County of Buckingham, shall well and truly execute his office as guardian of the said Elizabeth Hudgens and Thomas H. Hudgens in all matters and things in relation thereto as required by law, then the above obligation to be void, other wise to remain in full force and virtue
