Indenture - Madison County Deed Book X - p. 49 This indenture made this 22nd day of December 1836 between Moses Davis of the County of Madison and State of Kentucky of the one part and Isaac Davis of the County of Rockcastle and State aforesaid of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Moses Davis for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of Kentucky to him in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto said Isaac Davis and his heirs forever a certain tract of land containing one hundred acres by survey lying in the aforesaid county of Madison on the head waters of Silver Creek including the head spring thereof which one hundred acres includes two 50 acres patented to Charles Davis and bounded as followeth [ unreadable ] Begining at a large black oak and poplar corner to William Bentleys survey of [7] 100 acres thence with a line of the same NE40 poles to a chestnut oak and maple in said line thence N35 W40 poles to two sugar trees, thence S81 W114 poles to a poplar and sugar tree in Will Bentleys line of his 120 acre survey, thence with his [ ]30 W60 poles to his corner, two black oaks on a hill side, thence with another one of his lines S20 E60 poles to two black oaks, whiteoak, and poplar in the head of a hollow, thence S40 W90 poles to a stake in the line of said Moses Davis' survey of 75 acres, thence with his line S57 E20 poles to a stake his corner in Isaac Davis' line of his survey of 100 acres, thence with his line N58 E140 poles to his corner a poplar on a hill side and corner to his survey of 200 acres thence with a line of the same N85 E48 poles to a white oak in a line of said [7] 100 acres, thence with the line of the same N9 W83 poles to the Beginning With the appurtenances and premises above mentioned and every part thereof.  To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land with the appurtenances and premises above mentioned [unreadable ] every part thereof unto said Isaac Davis his heirs executors and administrators the land hereby conveyed against any [ unreadable ]
