It is, therefore, adjudged that the Commissioner shall advertise and sell the following property on
the
premises on some day to be fixed by him,
A certain house and lot situated in Madison County, Kentucky, near Paint Lick and New Hope

ORDER OF DISTRIBUTION - No. 1665
It appearing to the Court from the uncontroverted allegations of the petition herein that the
estate of William Wilcox is indebted to Blakeman, Roberts, and Oldham in the sum
of $145.00, which was an account for the burial expenses of said William Wilcox, and
that same is a
preferred claim, after the vendors's lien of Thompson Burnam, Jr., and it appearing that said
vendor's lien with interest has been paid in full by the Master Commissioner, and that he has
sufficient funds remaining in his hands to pay the funeral expenses, the Commissioner is now,
therefore, ordered and directed out of the funds in his hands to pay the said sum of
$145.00 to Blakeman, Roberts, and Oldham, and as to the rights of said BLakeman, Roberts, and
Oldham to further claim of $155.00 for the burial of Martha Wilcox, and the claim of
Dr. M.W. Robinson for $215.00 for medical services rendered Martha Wilcox, the
Court reserves
opinion for further orders, and this cause is continued.

James W. Wilcox's father is most likely Squire Wilcox. A William Wilcox is listed in the household of Squire Wilcox in the 1850 Madison County, Kentucky census. James middle name is most likely William. James W. Wilcox's, according to the 1880 census, father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Tennessee. All of the children of James Wilcox were living in the household of J. William and Lizzie Bolton Wilcox in the 1880 Madison County census, pg. 541C, Kirksville.
Spouse: 4. Nancy Elizabeth Ware, b. 16 September 1835 at Middlesex County, Virginia, d. 1886 at Madison County, Kentucky, burial place unkown.
|
Nancy Ware Wilcox date unk.
|
Nancy's birthdate was found in the Family Surname files at the Kentucky Historical Center, Frankfort, Kentucky. A letter states that Nancy E. Ware married James Wilcox on 26 August 1856 and that Nancy E. Ware was born on 16 September 1835. I was able to find the their marriage listed in the Marriage Register for Clark County, Kentucky. This evidence confirms Nancy E. Ware's father as John Ware of Montgomery County, Kentucky. John E. Ware and Frances ______ of Middlesex County Virginia. Other children: Lucy, Madison, John E., Silas, William and Margaret. Lucy died at Winchester Kentucky. It is not known where Nancy E. Ware is buried. She may be buried at the Manse/Paint Lick Cemetery. In the 1880 census, Nancy's patents are both given as born in Virginia. Nancy is also noted as being born in Virginia.
Nancy may have had a sister named Margaret. Margaret married David Snowden and was living in Madison County, Kentucky in the 1880 census. Margaret's parents are noted as being born in Virginia. There is a David Wilcox identified as her nephew in the household. David Wilcox below was not enumerated in the household of either James or J. William Wilcox in 1880.
From James Otto Wilcox: Nancy Elizabeth Ware was of indian blood, that is why she wasn't buried in the Richmond Cemetery. She is buried in a Church Cemetery somewhere near Paint Lick on Silver Creek.
Married 26 August 1856 at the home of Richard Ware, Clark County, Kentucky. The marriage was performed by Rev. Milton Piles, Minister of the Gospel of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. Witnesses were Richard Ware, Rolen/Robert Rankin and M. Powell.
