I have had it on my heart to do this page for some time now,
but putting it into words is not easy .  I do feel, however,
that it is something the Lord would have me do,
so I pray the Holy Spirit will give me the words as I need them
and that this page will be a Blessing to all who read it.
In Jesus Name. Amen.

We all have people that we pray for.  Particularly our loved ones,
as they are dearest to our hearts.  I would like to share with you,
if I may, some of the things the Lord has taught me concerning prayer,
since I became a Born Again Christian in 1976.
When I became a Christian most  of my family were unsaved.
Good people, but not walking with the Lord.
Naturally with my new found joy of the Lord I wanted for them
to experience it too.  I tried talking with some of them
about the Lord and how He had changed my life but as most of you will know,
it is harder to reach your own family than it is to reach strangers.
I decided that I would have to leave them to the Lord.

Now that didn't mean I did nothing about it.  I read in Acts 16.31.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
Well, I believed and so I knew that I was saved,
but it also told me "and thy house."  That meant my family,
so I decided that if God's word said it then I would claim it for my family.
I wrote down their names and I "claimed" them for God's Kingdom.
Using the above scripture as my basis for doing so.
I knew that it was God's will for them to be saved,
so I knew I was not praying amiss.  I asked the Holy Spirit to work in
their lives and to draw them to the Father - in His time.
Then daily I would thank God for the day that they would receive Jesus
as their Lord and Saviour.  As the saying goes,
"it didn't happen overnight, but it did happen".

" One by one, I watched as my loved ones gave their hearts to Jesus.
Firstly my fiance Bill, who has been my husband now for twenty two years.
Next my young son and then my daughter and her fiance.
Next it was my Mother's turn and eventually my Father.
That was just the beginning, I have since had the joy of seeing two Uncles
of mine and members of Bill's family also come to the Lord.
I truly believe that the key is first of all believing and then having the
faith to THANK God before it actually happens.
After all isn't that what FAITH is all about?
I am still believing for my Father in law to make that commitment.
In Jesus name. I urge you to try this way of believing and praying for
your loved ones as I know that it works.
Have faith in God's faithfulness.

Update regarding my father in law.
We had the joy of bringing him to the Lord on 3rd July 1999.
Hallelujah!! Thank you Father God.
It took twenty years but we had faith in God's faithfulness.

Further Update Regarding my father in law
On the 22nd September, 1999, my husband's father went to be with the Lord.
Three or four days before his death, my husband visited him
and as he was leaving, his Dad said to him, "Bye bye, I'll see you in Heaven".
To us, this was confirmation that we would indeed see him in Heaven.
God is so good - He even gave us those last words as a reassurance.

Years later I was to learn yet another very important way
to get answers to my prayers.  We see our loved ones receive Jesus
as their Lord and Saviour, but all to often that is all they do.
They receive Him, but never seem to grow or do anything with their faith.
This too can be very frustrating and if you are anything like me then you
would have spent hours praying for what YOU thought they needed.
I too was guilty of this and the Lord Himself stopped me in the middle
of a prayer once concerning my husband and made it very clear to me
that I was praying for what I thought my husband needed.
Not what God wanted to do in his life.  What an eye opener that was.
I asked God's forgiveness and started to pray for
what GOD wanted in my husband's life.

To cut a long story short,  I will tell you that God moved ME out of the
Church I  thought God wanted us in and put us both in a Pentecostal Church.
Things got a little better, in that my husband came to Church with me
and seemed to be more interested in what it was all about.
He never wanted to get involved though and would almost rush out of
Church as soon as it was finished, in case anyone asked him to do anything.
It was almost funny at times, yet I knew in my heart God had so much
more for us both. Then one morning we had a visiting American Pastor
by the name of Stuart Lawson, who gave the message that morning.
He doesn't realise it but that day was a turning point in my prayer life.

He asked for anyone that needed prayer for any reason to come forward.
I was one of several who went forward.
I had it in my mind that I was there to have prayer for a
back condition which has troubled me for years.
God had other plans though.  When it came to my turn he didn't
even ask me what I wanted prayer for.  He just said something like this.
"My dear, your husband is with you, but he isn't with you,
if you know what I mean."  Yes, I did know what he meant.
Bill was physically with me in Church but spiritually he wasn't with me.
He was in Church to please ME, and that isn't enough,
we should go to Church to Worship the Lord,
not to please our partner or anyone else for that matter.
The Pastor then said, "You pray for your husband a lot don't you?"
I said "yes I do." He asked me my husband's name and  I told him it was Bill.
He then said, "I  want you to stop praying for YOUR HUSBAND,
and start praying for GOD'S SON BILL."
He explained that when I prayed for MY HUSBAND,
I was taking part of the responsibility for the answer to my prayers but
that when I prayed for GOD'S SON BILL,
I was leaving the full responsibility with God.
WOW!! What a revelation that was.

I knew that from then on, that was the way God wanted me to pray for Bill.
He also suggested that as I daily made the bed we sleep on,
I should lay hands on Bill's pillow and ask the Holy Spirit to work in
Bill's life every he laid his head on that pillow to sleep.
The Pastor then hugged me as I cried and told me it was a hug from God.
You know it really was a hug from God, I have never felt
a hug like it in my life. He told me that God would answer my prayers.
Well, I went home determined to get results and so daily I prayed for
GOD'S SON BILL and daily I laid hands on his pillow and prayed for
the Holy Spirit to work in his life.  I found a peace I had never
known before, praying that way, it was like a load had been lifted off
my shoulders and I knew that God was in control.
Gradually I watched as God went to work in Bill's life.

Bill has grown in the Lord so much in the past few years.
He has become water Baptised and has been involved with me
in work for the Lord. Together we are able to Minister the love of
the Lord to many hurting and lonely people. To God be the Glory.
Bill has become the sweetest most lovable husband any woman
could wish for and God has blessed us with a truly happy marriage.
God even made it possible for Bill to retire five years earlier than
the usual retirement age, thereby giving us precious time together
and time to be used by Him. What a mighty God we serve.

I have adopted this style of prayer for all of
my loved ones and Christian friends.
God has given me the opportunity to share this
with a number of people and they too have seen the same
kind of results that I have.  This is my reason for making this page really.
I have found that God is sending more and more people my way
who are praying for loved ones and wanting to get results.
I can now suggest they visit this page and try praying this way.
It really does work if you have the faith to believe that it will.

I have Bill's full permission to share this testimony with you
and we pray that you have in some way been blessed by this page.
If you have I would love to hear from you.
We are always happy to share our experiences with others,
to the Glory of the Lord. Also should it be that either
Pastor Stuart Lawson or someone that knows him should read this page,
I would love to be able to contact him and tell him how
the Lord used him to bless my family.
Thank you Stuart and most of all thank you Father God.
