Soulnames

Soulnames work nearly the same in Lebet as they do in other RPG's, and in the original ElfQuest. They're secret from everyone, save that parents' find their childrens' soulnames shortly after their birth, and are known by others when they're given freely to lovemates or lifemates, taken forcibly by recognition, or an enemy who has particularly strong mental magic.

The biggest difference between our soulnames and the soulnames in other RPGs' is that in most, youthes find their soulnames alone, when they reach a certain age. In ours, the process is much the same. Youthes go off alone into the forest, and return in few days, sometimes as much as a week. During this time, they are visited by a wonderful creature; sometimes a beautiful unicorn, sometimes a beautiful elfess, who "gives" them, or helps them find (depending on who you) ask their soulname.

This creature is Lerae, the half-blood. In the old days, when the city still stood, the youngsters were helped by elders, or mystics. Now, the tribe is too small for anyone to devote their attentions entirely to such small details. And so, it is Amarul, now the most gifted in such magics, who cares for this aspect of each elf's life.

**Note; if your character doesn't have a soulname yet, you have to ask either Kayla or me before going to find it. Like everything else, we have to make sure it fits into the storyline. Thanks!
