Grada and her ties to China !

Grada takes part in the Eijerkamp-Cuiwei one loftrace since 1999. In this first year she won 
a 2nd International and a 1st European with the NL99-2491675.
In 2000   53rd International and 12th European. 
In 2001   57th International and 13th European.
In 2002     7th International and    2th European. Also 123th  International end 23th European and
                 341th International and 55 European.
In 2003   63rd International  and 13th  European < >  NL  03-2242253
                 155th  International and 46th European < >  NL 03-2242254
In 2003 there are 2 races. One from the old racingloft and one from the new racingloft. At the place of the
old loft the Chinese will build accommodation for the 2008 Olympics.


 The new loft is situated in Shengyang, north-east of Beijing

. 1927 birds were in competition. The first day, 41
birds made it home, from which 2 European. The 3rd European and 91st International came the next morning and was


 Grada's NL 03-2242271.

The 1999 and 2001 race was much more difficult than the race of 2000 and 2002.

Account of a journey in China 2004

Departure 1 October Amsterdam ( Schiphol ). An intermediale landing in Beijing ( China ).
After that an inlanding flight to Shenyang, the city where the Shenyang Eijerkamp Hengwei
Pigeon Race have was held on the fifth of October.

After a very difficult race and after a long time of waiting 8 of the 1496 participating pigeons
arrived at the finish that day.

Amang those 8 pigeons there was one pigeon from Holland.

The next day at 8.19 o"clock the first 150 pigeons arrived at the finish. On the second day
480 pigeons at togeter came back.

On the fifth of October I met two Chinese pigeon fanciers. They told me that they had pigeons
of mine and that those pigeons had come back at the Race in Beijing 2002. These two pigeon
fanciers came back the next day with the pedigree cards and the title deeds.

A descendant of one of the pigeons NL 02-1438160 conquered a 29sth place at the Shenyang Race.
One of the pigeon fanciers is naw owner of the NL 02-1438159.

On the 7th October we went back to Beijing with an inland flight again. There we stayed at the Grand
View Garden Hotel, where we also stayed in 1999. This hotel has a Chinese style of building and the
back it borders on a beautiful park.

On friday the 8th October I met my Chinese friend Teng Ping, his wife and his daughter again. While
we had dinner we talked about the pigeons and about both our families. We also keep in touch with
eachother trough e-mail to exchange our experiences on the pigeons.

On the 9th of October in the morning we paid a visit with the group to the pigeonhause of Teng Ping.
Which was very appreciated by Teng Ping. When we were about to leave, we all received a Chinese
souvenir to honour our vist to the pigeonhouse.

So after a warm reception and after seeing the pigeons of Teng Ping, we were waved goodbye by
Teng Ping and his family.

Early in the afternoon we all were a bit nervous, because we going to the Beijing eijerkamr Cuwei Race,
which went well by the way.Except for the pigeons fanciers from Holland. On this day 1427 pigeons
took off when there was no wind, a little of fog and 22ºC (degrees). The distance was about 500 kilometres.

Also this time the Chinese pigeons flew in the front. The first European pigeon got a 15th place.
on the day of take off 357 pigeons were registrated. The next day 850 pigeons returned al together.

3109 duiven werden er totaal gelost op 500 km bij 25 graden en een lichte tegenwind.
3 duiven van Grada stonden aan de start. De eerste was de 6e Europese en de 184ste
internationaal.
