Thank you for your letter. We were so excited to hear from you! Humble is a suburb of Houston in the northeast part of Harris County. Humble I.S.D. encompasses Humble and the adjoining community of Kingwood, so it is quite a large district. Our school, Lakeland Elementary, has 6 first grade classes. We have 16 in our class, 8 girls and 8 boys. We have fish too. One had babies in November, so we have LOTS of fish now.

We have just finished a unit on penguins, and celebrated our 100^th day of school last Wednesday. We counted, we wrote stories, we measured - all kinds of things in connection with the number 100.

Here are some questions the boys and girls had for you after we read your email:

1. Do you have snow there?

2. Do you ski or make snowmen at recess? (A fascinating subject since most kids here have never seen snow.)

4. Did you know that we are at the bottom of Texas and you are at the bottom of Canada?

We start our day at 7:50 and go home at 3:00. Our school colors are purple and white, and we are the Wildcats. We lost a lot of teeth earlier in the year, but no one has lost a tooth this month. Thank you again for your email and we hope you have a great day!
