CRCT Test: What We're Doing to Prepare What You Can Do to Help

The news is full of stories on the upcoming CRCT that will be given in a little over 30 school days. You may be wondering what we are doing to get ready for this. First of ally, we are reviewing math skills, including basic facts. We are also doing a CRCT Practice/Review math sheet. On this sheet are addition, subtraction and multiplication problems. Division will be added shortly. We are also working on word problem strategies.      In reading, skills are being taught or reviewed every day. In addition, Reading Renaissance is under way.      In Lanugage Arts, we are continuing with learning new vocabulary words and working on skills.      We keep pluggig away at Social Studies and Science. Most classes are studying Colonies in Social Studies. In Science, the topic varies but rest assured, your child will have learned what is necessary to do well on the CRCT.      You can help your child prepare in many ways. First of all, review basic math facts. Next, see that your child is reading for homework EVERY NIGHT. In addition, you can check over your child's papers when they come home and go over errors. If we work together, each student  can be successful on the CRCT!!!
