Create Your Own Web Page

You can create a "webpage" for personal use to store and access sites that you want to return to. By structuring your webpage according to the program areas that you teach, your links to lesson plans will be well organized and easy to find. You can include a brief description of each web site for easy reference. Your personal "web page" will work on your personal computer and does not need to be transferred to the World Wide Web, unless you so choose.

I have created a template for your use to get you started. Click here to go to the template. To copy the template go to "view" and click on "source" or "html." This will bring you to the page consisting of the HTML code in notepad. Highlight the entire page and copy (ctrl + c) and paste (ctrl + v) to a new page in notepad (click on "file and "new"). Save your new document making sure to use the .html extension (e.g, Grade1.html), otherwise you will not be able to use it as a web page. I recommend saving the document to your "My Documents" folder so that it will be easy to access from your desktop. You can edit the document at any time by going to "source." On the template, I have included one link to the World Wide Web under Health and Physical Education. Clicking on this link should take you to PE Central.

To add hyperlinks to other documents on the Internet:

For example, <a href="http://www.kconnect.com/kc-integrated.html">The Gingerbread Man</a>.

After entering this line, click on "save" and go back to your "web page" and click on "Refresh" on the Toolbar. Your page is now updated and when you clink on this link on your "web page" you will connect to the web page on the Internet.
