Since 1998 Grafik Archive Publishing has released three books in five editions.
The books are printed in their entirety using turn-of-the-century letterpress equipment at
HAMMERPRESS Studio.  This labor intensive printing process
uses the same basic technology developed by Gutenberg
in the 15th century; and each publication requires over 100,000
hand-fed runs through the press.

GABK 03.2
An enormous undertaking by HAMMERPRESS; this book contains 22
full color letterpress illustrations.  Russell Ferguson's writings,
drawings, and watercolors are reproduced here, and bound with three bolts against a wooden backing board.  A chipboard slipcase pulls
the beautiful package together.

Due to the enormity of the project, it was reduced to 350 copies
instead of a scheduled run of 700.  $75
Deluxe hardbound "Plate" version of the above book. For this edition, the metal plates used to print the books have been cut down into 200 pieces, and one is inserted into each of these cloth bound books.  Paper wrapped in special Mayakovsky poster.
Strictly limited to 200 copies.  $150
This project is a beautiful object d'art that is as much an homage to great design as it is to great printing.   The book reprints 42 covers of Mayakovsky's published works, crafted by the greats of 20th century graphic design: Rodchenko, El Lissitzky, and others.  What sets this above most books in this field, is that we used the exact same printing process to print this book, as they did to print the original volumes over 75 years ago.   Includes a page of 'poster stamps' made with illustrations from "For The Voice"; as well as an essay on Mayakovsky by Roberta Lord.
Wire-O Portfolio bound in an edition of 500 copies. $75
