Norrlands 1:St company
Farmhand Eric Edström in Sånga church village, who seeks
work as a boatsman
for the crown in Överlännäs and Kläpps Rote is
born in this parish on the
25th of Jan. 1858.
Has good knowledge of religion, and has received holy communion on
April
25th this year. Loyal to his country, has been vaccinated. Not infected
with any contagious diseases.
To all this I attest and I recommend him.

Farmhand Eric Edström in Sånga church village has today been
examend and
found to be in good physical condition. His breath is fresh. He
is of normal mind, no visible handicapp or contagious diseases.

The undersigned fileholders for the villages Korfsta, Kläpp and
Mellby, have this day
met agreement with the Farmhand Eric Edström from Sånga,
who have accepted
service as a Bosun for the file 149, 2:nd Norrlands 1:st company
according following terms;
1:) as mercenary salary is given to Edström 200 kronor, whereof
half of the sum is
paid when he is being enrolled and approved, and half or 100 kronor
at the first
orders.
2:) The croft is going to be within Korfsta village, as being within
the file
its turn to provide such, and the yeoman Hans östlund have committed
to put a Croft
to of it so called moskiftet in south from the hillside, in the west
bordered by Ås village,
and in east and north to its areas of 2 tunnland tilled land and an
half tunnland of land for the houses.
all in one piece;and should during the period of service, complaints
from Bosun
regarding the croft occur; and such as complaint, grounded on fair(?),
Korfsta
village community undertake to fulfill its indisputable right.;
3:)As soon as the land have been surveyed, the fileholders are
committed to, that after one year thereafter have the buildings raised
namely a sixlog cabin; cornshed and a house for the animals, and also
the fences, which later is
maintained by the bosun, the other buildings by the file.
4:) The bosun gets yearly, as long as he uphold his service, 2 'for'
grain, 2 ? food
whereof half butter and half meat, and so called rotslott and a half
'kornband' on every 'leland'
, equivalent half of the filemoney, and other what in law stipulates.
5:) free pasturage on Korfsta village outskirt, for those animals who on
the croft
is winterfeeded, also wood for warming the houses and also wood for
building
fences.
6:) During the Bosuns commandments are the fileholders obligated to
help and maintain the croft
and also to transport wood for warming the croft when there is need
for it.
7:)Against those terms are Eric Edström obligated to serve 25
year as a bosun, counted from
that day when Edström have been accepted by the Chief. After those
service years
he or his first wife is given the croft, during the rest of their life,
with
obligation to self maintain the land and the croft, with right to what
says in 5:paragraph
With this contract we are declaring on both sides to be satisfied
Kläpp d. 23 Aug. 1875 Accepted signed by Eric Edström and
all the fileholders in Korfsta, Mellby and Kläpp

It by the inventory of the croft written protocol :
" Year1884 the 13 october was performed by the below signed 'kronolänsman'
with help by 'nämdemännen'
Per Molander i Grillom and Lars Nygren i Torsta, på grund af
Kongl. Majts. Befallningshafvandes
förordnande den 23 sistlidna september och i överensstämmelse
med Kongl. förvaltningens
och sjöärendena och Kongl. Kammarkolegii kunggörelse
den 30 januari 1846 syn å torpet
till båtsmansroten N: 149 Bister af Norrlands tredje kompani;
beläget å Korfsta bys ägor i Öfverlännäs
socken; och hade skrifvelse i ärendet till herr kompanichefen
R von Myhlenfels blifvit aflåten samt
såväl vederbörande rotehållare som båtsmannen
i behörig ordning kallats till förättningen.
Förutom Kompanichefen och båtsmannen infunno sig följande
rotehållare: C O Rydberg i Kläpp,
för egen del och såsom ombud för enkefru M Pallin i
Kläpp, H Östlund och J Bergman
i Korfsta samt J Näsholm och P.M.Melander m.m.
Main building;
Newly timbered and with shingled roof, 30.5 feet long, 19.3 feet wide
och 11 feet high by the wall,
divided in hall, kithchen och room and loft in the eastern part.
Cow building;
Containing barn , fodder box , earth closet and woodshed, newly timbered
and with shingled roof
46 feet long, 22.5 feet wide and 9.5 feet high (by the wall).

The holder of the Rote agreed to that the bosun could build a chimney
and a bakin owen in the barn,
if they was free to not built a baking owen in the house.
he holders of the Rotehållarne agreeed to that before 1 juli
1885 fix the following .
to put in floor on the loft, estimated consumption 5 tolfter
7 X 2 boards 27.60 Kronor
to put up bording on the main building, estimated 17 'tolfter'
boards. 105:-
to rpaint the houses red and paint white around the windows
and doors 21:-
to raise a chimney in the house, but without a baging owen,
according to the agreemant,
between the holdres of the Rote and the Bosun. 30:-
to on the so called Olaf Perssons crofts raise a summer house
for the animals, built by
resvirke and boards, 14 feet in square and with shingeld roof. 50:-
Reparations costs together kronor 233:60
Both parts, declared themself satisfied with the inspection.

Kongl. Majts. official, considered this comission, find
that the holders of the rote shall according to the instructions in
the protocol,
, before the 1 july 1885 inlägga golf å stugu-
loftet, brädfodra mangårdsbyggnaden, rödfärga
husen samt hvitmåla fönster och dörrar med foder, uppföra
en ny mur i stugan samt å betesmarken uppföra ett sommarfähus.
Vid påföljd att vederbörande
kronolänsman, om vid den förnyade syn honom åligger
att förätta, utrönes, att de till verkställighet
ådömde förbättringarna icke blifvit inom tid och
på föreskrifvet sätt fullgjorde,
har att, på den tredskades bekostnad, ombesörja verkställigheten
af de eftersatta arbetena.
Den som med detta utslag icke åtnöjes, eger att deri i underdånighet
söka ändring genom
besvär, hvilka skola senast före klockan tolf å fyrtiofemte
dagen efter häraf bevisligen
erhållen del till Kongl, Majt. uti dess sjöförsvars
departement ingifvas.
