Who Am I? | ||||||||||||||
I was born on March 3, 1982, in Bryan, Texas. I spent most of my growing-up years in Texas, attending high school at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, before moving up to Virginia to attend school and live with my family in Blacksburg. I am currently a junior at the College of William and Mary. It is hard to believe-seems like just last week that I started as a freshman, and next year I'll be graduating. I am a history major and Hispanic Studies (Spanish) minor, and as of now I plan to attend graduate school, most likely in history. |

Who am I? Well, first off there are two things I am going to avoid here: 1.) Trying to tell my whole life story, because even if it were possible on a single webpage, this isn't exactly the best medium to express every minute detail-talk to me if you want to hear that :) and 2.) I want to avoid listing my accomplishments/talents here, because I am not big on bragging and don't want this page to become a self-glorification list. That said, here's a little about me-mostly random things with no particular rhyme or reason behind why there are here or in what order.
According to the Briggs-Meyer Personality Test, I am an INFP. What does this mean? According to The Personality Page, INFP (which stands for Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving") is a personality type characterized by an internally-focused way of living, adherence to a strongly-defined set of values, and emphasize and feelings and intuition rather than hard facts and cold logic. Much of this does hold true for me, as I consider myself much more of an idealist than a practical person. I hesitate to apply all of the supposed INFP characteristics to me, such as deep spirituality, yet on the whole the depiction seems to be a broadly accurate one in my case. An INFP, so says the Personality Page, "may be reserved in expressing emotion, [but he or she has] a very deep well of caring and are genuinely interested in understanding people." Sounds about right.
Favorite Books: Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond The Basque History of the World by Mark Kurlansky Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations by Al Franken Favorite movies: Fight Club L'Auberge Espagnole How to Irritate People with John Cleese Socially, I am both most comfortable and least comfortable with a small group-the difference depends upon who constitutes said group. When I am with a small group of people around whom I am comfortable, this is best for me, and the activity itself is only secondary. I like just about every leisure activity, but some of my favorites are reading, watching a movie, and playing basketball. |

I am in the Spanish House this year. (Site is currently down but maybe IT will put it back up soon. Haha. Next year, c'est la Maison Francais! I really like studying both languages and working in them-I take every opportunity to practice, including reading news articles, going to websites, reading books, etc. in the given language. |
