Q. Which nouns are correct when talking about electronically sent messages, e.g. in
"Send me __"
"Send it as __"
"Before you can write __ you have to get a computer"
"You have five __"

a mail/mails
an email/emails
a mail message/mail messages
an email message/email messages

A. The Tenth Edition of the Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary lists it as E-mail. I suppose the plural would be E-mails, but I would prefer E-mail messages. However, that's just a personal preference.
