The Grammar Doctor

Q. Good day from Germany! I am currently learning German as a second language. We are learning how to form comparative and superlative sentences. Our teacher asked if anyone could tell him the grammatical name for sentences that do not involve comparisons. He thinks they might be called "positive sentences." I volunteered to find the answer for him but can't seem to find any related subjects in my old college grammar books. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated! I look forward to a response.

A. Your teacher is right. The three forms of adjectives are the positive, the comparative, and the superlative.
