Q.I have a question. My friend and I have disputed the meaning, or difference, of two particular words: several and few. Can you tell me if " several" is more than " few" or is it the other way around?

A.According to Merriam Webster, " few" means a small number, " several" means more than two but less than many. From that I would assume that is or at least can be a smaller amount than several.
