A. A transitive verb is about an action in which someone does something to something. A sentence with a transitive verb may have a direct object.
For example: Hoskins finished the job. (Hoskins, the subject, did something to the job -- finished it. "Job" is the direct object in this sentence.)
Intransive verbs do not have direct objects. Verbs of motion are examples of intransitve verbs.
He walked to the edge of the lake.
He rode to California on his Harley.
