" Holly Tree " played for the first time in Caçapava in an organized party for Gramophone and now more than four years passed and they were back! A brief chat with Tito:

Gramophone - Four years passed and here is you of turn in the I Can! At that time they were throwing the first Cd... how many were already after that?

Tito - " Running out of sense " the first, later: " Don't burst me "; " Live in São Paulo " (live engraving in the Hangar 110); a collection with four bands: us and " Sigarrones " of Brazil, " Leek & The Bouncing Uptones " a band of very legal Ska of South Africa and " Pistol Grip " of Canada; and to complete he has the newest with covers of bands and classic music of the punk rock; he/she has " The Jam ", Buzzcocks ", 999 ", Lurkers " and much more! All recorded originally between 76 and 80, from the more acquaintances like " Sex Pistols ", " The Clash ", " Generation X " (former-Billy Idol's band!) until the classic less acquaintances of the galley in general, besides we played with some bands with present music as: Vibrators ", " Uk Subs " and now " Lurkers " and it is very legal to be recording music that influenced us... it is not a covers Cd that we set up for playing any thing... it is a moment of the history of the music that was the beginning of the punk rock! We wanted center well that! It is an opportunity for the urchins that doesn't know, we presented the bands trying to be very faithful to the originals but doesn't give for not sounding as new!

Gramophone - What did for " Holly Tree " change from our chat to four years ago?

Tito - Nor I know it changed if... well it changed! But not only for " Holly Tree " because the scene, the independent market grew enough! I remind that when we threw the first Cd we were almost exception and then for front the market grew in amount, quality, places to play... bad and good things but in a general way it grew! We got to publish plenty our work for the upcountry of São Paulo, other states... but it went running plenty, to be independent is to play one hour in the stage and the week to pass finds out working for everything right to walk, to happen!

The Lurkers

" The Lurkers " is one of the classic focused in Holly Tree Cd, they were the first band to record for the famous I stamp " Beggars Banquet " and between 77 and 79 they were five times in " Top 40 " British! Of the original formation it is only " Arturo Bassick " which was shown in spite of not prolonging your answers a lot quite friendly and we had a small chat, check:

Arturo Bassick - it is we began in the summer of 76!

Gramophone - When did it return " Lurkers " after the second stop?

Arturo B. - we Stopped later in 1980 we returned among 1982 / 1984 and since 1987 we are in the active without stopping more!

Gramophone - Of the original formation you are only, as it is the current formation?

Arturo B. - In these shows here in Brazil are me, Arturo Bassick in the voice / bass; Billy, that already played in Chelsea, Hangups among other, in the guitar and Nelly, that played also in Hangups, Fiend and other, in the battery.

Gramophone - the scene in 76 in England was very strong with several bands beginning...

Arturo B. - Yes! A lot of bands began in this time, it was a great explosion, a revolution in the music!

Gramophone - Several bands that began in this date left for a wave more " New wave " and " Lurkers " it maintained your style...

Arturo B. - We are faithful to our style, that are simple and good music... to sing alone and it is what liked to play for that we didn't change!

Gramophone - One of the bands of the time that more I like it is the " 999 " and you play in the band! Could something talk about her?

Arturo B. - Yes, I am bass player the " 999 " and the band will probably come to Brazil next year, we didn't play here they do seven years and we come next year with the organization of Renato of the "Ataque Frontal"
