The Hancock County Larger Parish was made up of four churches: Van Buren, McComb, Enon Valley, and Blanchard Presbyterian Churches. My father was pastor there from 1955 to 1962. During that period the four churches flourished but soon after he left, the parish fell apart. Without the support of the other churches, Blanchard struggled and eventually closed its doors forever. Van Buren thrived but the original structure was destroyed in a fire in 1981. The stained glass windows survived the fire and were installed in the new building.
This commerative tile depicts the original church at Van Buren.
