Mrs. Lovejoy, 91 Dies; Rites Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Bridget Ellen Lovejoy, 91, who died in des
Moines Saturday, will be Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Peters church. Burial
will be in St. Ambrose cemetery.
Mrs. Lovejoy had been a Des Moines resident the last 50 years.
She died at the home of Mrs. Agnes Wolfe of 2102 Capitol ave., one of
her four daughters. The others are Mrs. L. M. Field, Mrs. I. C. Rowell
and Mrs. Arthur Bowers of Des Moines. Mrs. Lovejoy is survived also by
two sons, Joseph of Des Moines and Frank of Minneapolis, Minn., and 16
grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Cancer Is Fatal
To Maxine Field
Mrs. Maxine Field, 67, of 1401 Capitol Ave., died Sunday at the
Wickwire Nursing Home, 1714 Logan Ave., of cancer.
A resident of Des Moines 65 years, Mrs. Field had been employed as a
machine operator at Lindfelt Glove Manufacturing Co., until her retirement in 1955.
She was a member at St. Peter's Church where services will be at 9 a.m.
Tuesday. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery. A rosary will be
recited at 8:30 p.m. today at Caldwell-Brien funeral Home.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Agnes Wolfe, Des Moines: one
granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Maxine Jacobs, 22, an employee of the state bureau of labor, died
in Mercy hospital early Tuesday morning.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Catholic
church. Burial will be in Catholic Glendale cemetery.
Mrs. Jacobs, who was born and reared in Des Moines, is survived by her
mother, Mrs. Loretta M. Field and a year-old daughter.

THOMAS EUGENE LOVEJOY
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church for Thomas
Eugene Lovejoy of 3435 Kinsey Ave.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery. Mr. Lovejoy, 57, died of cancer Monday at home.
A lifelong Des Moines resident, he retired as owner of Eugene's Beauty Salon, was a
Navy veteran of the Korean War and THOMAS E. LOVEJOY
had been a member of the Catholic Church and American Legion.
Among survivors are his wife, Shirley; a son, Mark of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a
daughter, Anna Pearson of San Jose, Calif.; his mother, Aroma Lovejoy of Des Moines;
and two grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Grandview Funeral Home, where the family will
meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Memorial

Obituary: Shirley Lou Lovejoy, 62, of 3400 block of Kinsey Avenue died of cancer
Wednesday at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colo. The body was cremated,
and graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glendale Cemetery. Memorial
services will follow at the Des Moines Botanical Center.
Mrs. Lovejoy was born in Nevada and had lived in Des Moines 44 years before moving to
Colorado a year ago. She was the owner and operator of Eugene's Beauty Salon and a
member of Life after the Death of a Spouse and Los Oradores Toastmasters.
Surviving are her son, Mark Thomas, and a daughter, Anna Marie Lovejoy-Pearson, both
of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Donna Cooper of Des Moines, Pat Baker of
Boone and Velda Weeks of Henderson; two brothers, Gail Hess and Richard Hess, and her
mother, Vivian Hess, all of Lakeside, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs.

arrangements.

Patricia Ann Lovejoy went home to be with her Lord on Friday, October
29, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada, after a short illness. Funeral services
will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on SW 9th, Des Moines,
on Friday, November 5 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held Thursday from
6 to 8 p.m. at Southtown Funeral Home with a vigil service beginning
at 7 p.m.
Patricia was born to Thomas and Alta Woodard on January 29, 1928 in
Decatur City, IA. Patricia entered the U.S. Army Medical Corp in June
of 1953 and served her country until being honorably discharged in
1955. She later retired as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service in
1985 and moved to Las Vegas in 1994.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Gerald; and
two brothers, William and Richard Woodard, both of Des Moines.
Patricia is survived by two sisters, Delores Jean Willemssen and
Sheryl (Charles) Cozad of Norwalk; one brother, Gary (Linda) Woodard
of Des Moines; two stepbrothers, Michael and Warren Woodard of Des
Moines; and many nieces, nephews and her special friends in Las Vegas,
especially Clint, Judith and Bonnie.

Elois Lovejoy, 93, died January 9, 2008 in Garland Texas. She was born
May 30, 1914 in Iowa City, IA to Benedict and Emma Dunkel.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008 at
Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Highland Memory
Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the
family present from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Elois is survived by her daughter, Janice Schadegg; four grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Joseph E. Lovejoy; and sons, Michael D. Lovejoy and Frederick
D. Lovejoy.
