Jeremiah lived in Boone until 1880. In the census that year
he boarded with a family and was single and a blacksmith.
Later that year he moved to Carroll, Iowa
and from there to Odebolt. He moved to Merrill in 1891.
In the 1900 census he was a blacksmith in Battle Creek, Ida County, Iowa,
but was a resident of Merrill when he died, and his obituary said
he lived in Merrill from 1891 on.
According to Jeremiah's grandson, Robert E. Lucey, Robert's father
(George) told him that Jeremiah and his two brothers had a
blacksmith shop in Carroll, Iowa, between 4th and 5th streets
two blocks west of Main street. They attended St. Joseph's
church and went to school at St. Joseph's. Catherine lived
her last years with her daughter Florence Lambert.
