ESC stands for Electro-metaphorical Software Craftmanship.
ESC aims to take the pragmatic nature of Electronics and apply that philosophy of effectiveness before efficiency to Software development, especially by individuals who take pride in their work, i.e. Craftsmen or Artisans.
Engineering is an attempt by the traditional capitalist to ensure the quality of a product by extracting the scientific knowledge (based ultimately on mathematical models) from the skilled craftsman, and re-inject it into "human capital" in order to ensure that the human factor will produce quality work. The Engineer's concept of confidence levels (such as 95%, 99%, 5 nine's and 7 nine's) come from the explicit quantification of quality.
This attempt has been largely successful, but has been accompanied by a demoralisation of the skilled crastman, or "master builder" into the skilled but weak-willed, and ideally, soul-less engineer (the "techie", the "geek", the "nerd", the "socially inept", the "dyslexic", the "kid with ADD").
This article introduces the philisophical, or truth-seeking, basis upon which a specific counter-measure to the side effects of the (attempted) creation of the "Software Engineer" by re-minding the people who develop software that they are not, actually, "human capital", but people, with souls, who are crafting systems by using, not only high-technology external to themselves, but also esoteric knowledge and abilities inherent to their very nature.
My imagination is not quite good enough to imagine what shape a person implementing ESC would be like in detail, but I do know that she has a strong soul and makes his creations individual and distinct. The same way that a Mozart and a Bach can be told apart by their distintive characters, so too should an implementation of an ESC design be distinctive. Furthermore, in the same way that a conductor of an Orchestra can add his own flavour to a composition, so too should the implementers of any ESC design automagically add their own flavour to such a design.
Pure imagination is not needed to perceive the the realities of the current system, which tried on the one hand to make the software crastman into a "software engineer", on the next, a "software developer", and on the third, a "computer scientist". This approach has a tremendous political (and by political, I speak of personal power) cost, which I describe below.
The abomination of desolation that traditional capitalists dubbed software engineering has spawned a number of stereotypes which did not exist previously, and would not have developed if not for the hidden agenda within the intra-divisive traditional English philosophy which discriminated between capital and labour, and hence, attempts to set up businessmen to capitalise upon the fruits of the labour of others while simultaneously demoralising them. This is depicted well in the modern perpetual satire, Dilbert.
The dyslexic comes from a place where order is not polarised arbitarily in only half of the possible directions. In other words, there is no gravity to pull them, no linear time to push them, and no left or right to speak of. There is only here, there, and the intent to move made manifest via variable physicality.
A limited version of the D4 reality can be expressed by various mythical orders, such as the Jedi Knights ("there is no try. either do, or do not") which speaks of purity of Will. Will, being kinetic spirit.
The ADD kid is not broken, she is bored. Life within is poly-variable, and much more interesting than the mono-static life outside. If allowed to work from young and follow their own heart, such a person would become as Bertnard Russel, living a Life Triumphant and pursuing several parallel projects, alternating between them every few hours or so to avoid boredom and fatigue.
However, persecution by the coercive monostatic conformist ("muggles") leads to the development of manic depression, paranoia, delusions, [skitso], and other "nervous disorders". It is not, however, the kid that needs to be fixed... rather, she needs to be allowed to grow and develop in hir own way towards their multi-talented, genius potential.
The theatre consists of four main groups: actors, technies (stage crew and cable guys), audience, and overhead (logistics - stage manager, location - phyiscal stage, marketing - getting the audience to the environs of the stage, et cetera).
The technies and actors mutally respect each other, as embodied by the Technie Bible.
However, the "Information Technology" sector, which is how businessmen think of these systems: as conduits for information, contains a false duality of suits vs. techs. This leads to all sorts of oversimplifications and misunderstandings, and the finacial unstability of all those involved in such projects (due to danger of failure and improper planning).
Analogously, the actors are the salesmen, and also, the user interfaces of the products, and also, the customer support. They are any and everything that the "end user" will interact with thinking that it is connected in any way with the product. The product itself, is interactive. It is more like a play than a movie, and more like a videogame than a database, and more like a service in a box than a cable though which information flows.
Databases are to interactive technology, what lectures are to action movies. An unperceptive observe might oversimplify both to say that a lecture and an action movie are the same, because the audience has no input into the goings-on. However, in the same way that action movies interact with the emotions of the audience, lectures interact with the intelligence of the audience. Furthermore, both allow the audience to intearct after the experience, and both encourage further development of the ideas presented. The lecture seeks the englighten, the action movie seeks to motivate you to buy franchised products.
So they are similar, but not identical. Marketing is not the difference. The aim, one to simulate the intellect, and the other to simulate the emotions, is the difference. As a result, lectures and databases are boring, but action movies and videogames are fun.
The "geek", "nerd", and "socially inept [engineering student]" arise from a system which teaches how to play to the i-mind (intellectual mind) rather than the e-mind (emotional mind). The i-mind rejects any connection to the physical world, living in delusions called "theories", which are preached as dogma by the Orthodox Orders of Science. The e-mind embraces physicality in an immediate way, feeling with all of its senses (wheter five, six, or nearly a hundred is a matter of hair-splitting) the re-creation of the mims (mental simulations / e-mind stimulants) which are projected into it.
You become what you study, and engineering falsely seperated the Artisan, the Crastman, from the physical world, the feel of the stone, wood, metal, an electons with which he ultimately works and interacts, and places him in a mythical world of theory, where numbers and other symbols represent, he imagines, the real world. This makes quality quantifiable and explicitly teachable by the Order, but encourages the innocent Student to "lose his soul", by seperating Sensing from Thinking, in order to gain Mastery over the funademantals of Building.
Engineering poses a clear and present danger to the social, spiritual, and soul-ful development of any individual who attempts to pursue conventional studies in this field. This immediately implies the loss of the "human element" which the Master Builder.
Order, Orthodox Orders of Science: This is a mythical, but apparent organisation which controls the mass delusion of the age. For example, the myth that the Earth is flat.
Note that some theories literally teach that the Earth is flat, such as Einsteins theory of specific relativelity, 1910, mentioned in this article [ ], which neglects gravity, and the 2-Dimensional curvature of Earthbound 3-Space [link? ], in order to express the matter-energy equivalence relationship, the famous "E = m c squared".
Master Builder: Egyptian concept of an Artisan / Craftsman. Such people developed the highest technology ever know to man (up to this day, the pyramids cannot be rebuild by modern technology!), and founded all of the secret orders (such as the Rose-Cross), which then went on to found mainstream religions such as Fundamental Christianity, and continue to "guide" these organisations even (especially) today.
Unfortunately, the pre-inverted pyramid structure of the traditional capitalist (such as was evidenced in Egypt with the ruling class at the pinacle and the labour class at the base, and which I have expounded [elsewhere] has now been re-inverted in places such as K5 and is promoted in varous forms by the open orders of the GNU, FSF, OSS, and so on) also guarenteed that the power of the master builder remained exlcusive to the "elites" for countless generations.
The neo-kenosis of the current age, however, has caused new demigods to walk the Earth, who are now the builders of the interactive global society, which businessmen mypoically perceive as the global information society, because they see information as a virtual good, and ignore people totally, whereas those of use who interact through and outside of the Internet on a daily basis must realise that it is not information we primarily seek, but interaction of people with people, and of people with information.

There was some work done previously on representing software as electonic circuits. That work needs to be re-discovered, and implemented in order to make development times on my projects reasonable. The side-effect is that these tools could also be sold, as they boost productivity, and/or implemented by the open source community, if the specs and file formats are released and maintained.
There is also a lot of talk about OOD and OOP, which is a myth so far, and a very time-wasting one at that. Corrupting archaic technology such as C to make C++ leads to a weaping and gnashing of teeth. Moreover, the over-reductionism of seperating language from development environment gives us C as the Latin of software... but in the same way that no-one speaks latin as their first language, for latin is dead and monostatic whilst natural languages continually evolve and extend themselves to embrace cultural change, C is also dead and monostatic.
Perl, Phython, Lua, and so on are like Spanish, French, and whatever... but I aim to invent a language that is like English, and another that is like Mandarin. The English is the modular driven by world domination agendas, featuring a latin-based series of symbols, and the Mandarin is the totalistic, hidden behind its apparent complicated nature, featuring many primary magic symbols.
Actually, why not use Mandarin as a programming language?
