KC

Important Disclaimer and Warning!

KC was one of my first C projects, and is monolithic and unfinished. It's ways are dark and scary. There is really no reason to get KC, unless you wish to laugh at how terrible my code was.

The rest of this page is largely "as is" from May 1998 or so, when I was still working on KC. It possibly contains errors, and the information is out of date, venture forth at thy own risk!

What is KC?

KC is a computerized board game, based loosely on King's Court (aka Super Checkers), which is (apparently) the official sequel to Checkers.

What does it run on?

The current build is compiled for a 486, and requires a video card capable of 640x480 pixels at an 8-bit color depth. However, you can recompile the source for any platform supported by Allegro.
A joystick or gamepad is optional but not required. Mice are not supported yet.

Can I have the source code?

Sure, it's included in the zip file. But, I warn you, it's fairly messy.

What compiler do you use?

I used DJGPP, and Allego , an extention to DJGPP.
The included executable was compiled using PGCC 1.01 and Allegro 3.11.

When will it be finished?

Work on this project has halted.

Where can I get it?

You can get both source code and the binary  Here.

How can I contact you?

Email me, and I'll answer eventually.
