Little Programming Projects

KC1

Screenshort from KC

KC1 looks like fun, and you can get it all (in a .zip file) from this link. The zip file now includes instructions in HTML, so anyone with an interest can learn how to play!

This is a fairly abandoned project, though, because the codebase is spaghetti. The most obvious impact to you the user is that there is no A.I., and never will be, unless I chose to start up on this again.

SCR4

This primative software tool helps to maintain keyword dictionaries, generate headers with enumerations useful in C++ programs, and, it does magic tricks ("any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic").

For non-programmers and other such mortals, the file "scr3.html", which is also included in the zip file of the previous release (SCR3) should be amusing, particularly, the interview at the end, so, download or click in case of boredom.

There is now a better release (improved documentation) than SCR3, aptly called SCR4 { ++SCR3 ;}, and available at this link.

Incidentally, this is also the most unimpressive project I've ever worked on. It bored me to near insanity so I decided to leave such things for when I have a Linux box back or something else that is so... scripty. For now, I am addicted to pretty pictures and ease of use.

DMX2

Another project which I woked on (but, for some weird reason, never really talked much about or anything) was DMX2, which I have uploaded to this link. It is a C99/C64 immunlator, and although it is an incomplete work, it still looks and works kool.

This was the second most fun PC project I worked on (the most fun one... is a tie between vtest and m1), as part of the C99 project which I worked on with Chip. Currently, this is the only part of the C99 Project available from this site; this is not such a big loss as most of the kode was a learning experience for me.

One of the things I learnt is that this "human tendacy" to bite off more than you can chew is something which is quite reprogrammable. Life can be enjoyable all of the time, with a sufficient, demonstative love of self.

DMX2 is beautiful to play with, but has very ugly, aging insides (broken window syndrome). For eons I said "I will rewrite this in C++" but my C++ skills did not manifest overnight (as is quite expected... after all, it is a militant language which few use more than a small trickle of).
