This page is about the Chinese side of our family. Our "Mama and Yer-yer" as the girls call them. Unfortunately Yer-yer is no longer with us, but he is remembered with much love and affection by all his large family.

Mama still lives in Hong Kong surrounded by many grand children, and now one great grand daughter -"the little Angel".

These photo's of Mama and Yer-yer were taken a few years ago, Mama hasn't changed much, just a few more grey hairs. Yer-yer is just how I like to remember him,-a very handsome man.

The Wedding photo. In 1933 Shing Won Hon took Hung Hing Choi for his wife. They had two marriage ceremonies, one European, and one Chinese.The European style caused a furor because white is used for funerals in China, the family Gods could not have been too upset because they were married for over 50 years. Unfortunately there is no photo of the Chinese wedding.,but you can see the dress on Luci's Engagement page. It must have been very daring to defy convention back in the thirties.

Mama found this photo in a box, it is a picture of her with the under 100 pounds basket ball team.  No wonder the wedding dress did not fit Luci, she is a bit bigger. By the way, Mama is second from the left in the back row.
