MCMINN COUNTY
TOMBSTONE INSCRIPTIONS
Two brothers, Creighton and Mark Dennis who were born in Cocke County,
later moving to Mc Minn County, entered large boundaries of land for
this cemetery. The first person buried here, was Amanda, daughter of
Crieghton Dennis. One acre has been deeded for the descendants of the
two brothers. The location is ten miles west of Athens. Follow
Athens-Decatur Road to Idlewild, turning there to Pine Hill School Road
to the farm of Joel Dennis There are fourteen unmarked graves.
