INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT – COURSE 6458

Course Aim: This course is for people who work in any Manufacturing and Engineering industry or related service industry, and who want to gain skills and knowledge in Industrial Management without the necessity of completing a major qualification such as an Advanced Diploma in Manufacturing Technology (9891).  It allows students to study a sub-set of modules from the parent course related to industrial management.  This study program gives students the opportunity to meet their immediate training needs in industrial management, through the study of a limited number of modules.  You should be able to learn to apply proven industrial management techniques to supervisory positions within the manufacturing and engineering environment.

Course Content: You can choose from specific industrial management modules that deal with a range of skills which are useful in a wide variety of manufacturing, engineering supervisory, quality and service areas. These modules are nationally recognised. After the completion of a minimum of 5 industrial management modules (180 hours of study) you will receive a Statement of Attainment in Industrial Management (6458). When you finish one or more modules, you can apply for advanced standing in courses that have the same modules.

Course Duration: 180 hours minimum (10 hours a week for 18 weeks).

Attendance: Part time, day and/or evening. Flexible delivery mode is also available upon request.

Note: No pre-application is required. You should attend the college during the advertised enrolment period.

Entry Requirements: You must have an Engineering Certificate III or equivalent or satisfactory completion of Year 12 with a minimum of 10 HSC units or equivalent.  For some modules you must have specific skills before commencement.  This could mean having to complete some pre-requisite modules.

Articulation: When you complete this industrial management course all modules can be credited (advanced standing) to the Manufacturing Technology  Diploma and Advanced Diploma and other courses in the Manufacturing and Engineering area.

Career Opportunities: Modules in this course are recognised as counting towards career progression in the Manufacturing and Engineering industry in various supervisory related positions.
