9877 MANUFACTURING AND ENGINEERING TRAINING PROGRAM

THE INTERNET AND WEB PAGE CONSTRUCTION FOR TECHNICIANS

Course Aim: This program is for people who work in the Manufacturing and Engineering industries and who want to learn how to access the Internet, identify and use local and remote resources together with view, designing and creating documents suitable for use on the World Wide Web using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). You will also learn more advanced techniques of web page design using a scripting language, embedded applets, embedded graphics and extensions to HTML. These modules of this course are nationally recognised at technician level. After the completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment in the internet and web page areas of your study. When you finish the modules, you can apply for advanced standing in courses that have the same modules.

Course Content: 3650U – Access to the Internet, 3617E – Writing to the World Wide Web, and 3627A – Writing in Advanced HTML.

Course Duration: 72 hours (4 hours a week for 18 weeks).

Attendance: Part time, day and/or evening.

Note: No pre-application is required. You should attend the college during the advertised enrolment period.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this training program. For some modules you must have specific skills before commencement.

Articulation: When you finish modules from this training program you can get advanced standing for those modules in other courses in the Manufacturing and Engineering area.

Career Opportunities: Modules in this training program are recognised as counting towards career progression in the Manufacturing and Engineering Industry.
