Carnatic Music is my biggest and only passion in life!! I was initiated into this fabulous world by a friendly neighborhood maami Gayatri Kesavan who taught me the basics. I also learnt from Smt Vasanta Ramanujam for a couple of years.

From 1997, I was fortunate to be taken as a student by Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr RK Srikantan and his son RS Ramakanth. Learning from a legend such as Sri RK Srikantan has been an enriching experience. Merely being in the presence of a musician with over six decades of concert experience is humbling.

A turning point in my life as a musician came in 2002 when Sri TM Krishna agreed to take me under his fold and train me. I had always been captivated by his music and it has been an immense learning experience training under him. He has been a guru to me in more than just music - he constantly helps me to evolve as an individual.

To me, Carnatic music lies in the myriad ragas explored through the magnificent compositions of the musical trinity - Thyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar and Shyama Shastry. I firmly believe in tradition and I think that the beauty of Carnatic music lies in constantly innovating within the boundaries of tradition.

I have won a few prizes including the All India Radio (AIR) National Level Competition prize. I regularly perform in Bangalore, Chennai and elsewhere.
