"you're speakers are telling the truth, comming thru into your room on a river of sound" what's on my stereo... jamiroquai is about to release their 5th album, so in celebration i have been going back and listening to their collection. my all-time favorite has and i think will always be...*return of the space cowboy*. damn this album is good!! similar to the first disc *emergency on planet earth* this one is very warm and organic. deep bass, smooth lyrics, funky guitar, jammin' didgeridoo and a flow that just keeps you going (*if you know what i mean*). over the years jay and the band have acquired quite a number of new fans..and it seems to me that most of these guys have written off this record. granted: it is a bit of a sleeper...it does has to grow on you. but once it does, make no mistake about it; *rotsc* is definitely a heavy weight. if you're new to the game be sure to check out the title track space cowboy as well as half the man and mr.moon. you wont be sorry you did. money back guarantee. i admit i do have a wide variety of likes when it comes to music. but i stick by the statement, that i only like what i think is good (*sometimes*). well i have, and LOVE sade's new album *lovers rock*. it's been almost eight years since sade released anything and the wait is well worth it. her voice is as smooth and sultry as every but on this album sade explores and expresses more of herself than ever before. being very aloof when it comes to fame and the business side, the listeners get a really intimate look into sade herself on this disc. i know it's not for everyone but if you're interested try a couple of these on for size; by your side, slave song and my favorite: somebody already broke my heart. i've really been jammin' to the roots *come alive* for the last couple of months. i just can't take it out of my stereo. of all their albums i have to say that this one is my favorite. yeah i said it. let me explain, seeing the roots live is an eye-opener to how GOOD music can really be. it's also kinda an adventure. the energy that comes off them while live is indescribable. that's why *the roots come alive* is the superior album in my eyes. being a live album you really get a feel for what they are. something that an album version of a song that's been recorded and messed around with 100's of times just couldn't convey properly. if you like the roots and don't have it, get it. the live version of the next movement is fantastic! |
