GRAVITY CAST: HIMEKA NAKANO
Name: Himeka Nakano Himeka is a dedicated student who belongs to an exclusive private school in Kyoto. She’s proud to attend and is admired by both students and teachers for her dedication in all fields. However, Himeka is so dedicated she takes head of all activities insisting her way is always best. Unfortunately this has left her alienated within her school. The reason she strives to be above everyone else is because she feels she is below them. In a school that is populated by daughters of politicians, assembly members, doctors, lawyers, ect…the competition intensity is high, and for the daughter of a musician and a hotel heiress it’s in her best interest to project a personality that is more than she truly is. Freedom from pressures for Himeka can only be found with her family and friends – friends that sadly live in another city. When Himeka isn’t studying or organizing clubs she enjoys practicing the electric guitar. Secretly she lives for rock music, but can’t share that enjoyment at school out of fear of social exile. She learnt guitar from her father, Hiroshi, guitarist for internationally popular band Bad Luck. Other interests of her’s include baking with her mother, Ayaka, warfare against her younger brother, Akuto, and yaoi manga. While bad girls her age are getting older kids to buy them cigarettes and booze, Himeka pays off people to buy her manga a girl her age can’t legally buy. Attending an all girl’s school has given her a giddy intrigue into the world of male behaviour – particularly homosexual male behaviour. Much to the dismay of her closest friend Ryuko, Himeka’s always on the look out for homosexual activities within the city, and oh how wonderful it is for her that Ryuko’s parents just happen to be a gay couple! The city of Kyoto, where she has been born and raised, is very dear to her. She’s greatly immersed in the culture of ancient Japan; so much so that her everyday outfits consist of a mix of current fashion and traditional Japanese dress. Her love of ancient Japan has earned her the nickname “Hina Doll.” As she is of high opinion of Kyoto, and it’s proud history, her opinions of the city of Tokyo are quite sour. For her it is just a plastic city, too busy and too loud. Now she lives in Tokyo, while her father works on Bad Luck’s new album. Her family live in a big house near her grandparents’, rather than the luxurious hotel she is accustomed to. The transition has been stressing on her. She now attends Ryuko’s public school, attended by both males and females, and in desperate needs of improvements. Her pains have been minimal zed by her private school (who she is still technically a student of), which basically loaned her to Ryuko’s public school to assist in an improvement process. For someone like Himeka this is right up her alley. The idea to be in a hobby band is pleasing to her. It means instant cash – equalling more to spend on her yaoi collection. So when Ryuko suggested it to her she jumped at the opportunity.
