Ever read a manga and thought "Hmm, so and so would be killer-sweet for him!", well I have, and I often consider this for Gravity. I've deliberately so intently that I've compiled a wishlist of seiyuu (Japanese voice actors) who would be well suited for the role. The list is incomplete, these things take time. Eventually I will record sound btyes so you can really get what I'm talking about.
Ryuko: Yukino Satsuki
Slacker: Houko Kuwashima
Sara Fujisaki: Rie Kugimiya
Himeka: Yui Horie
Saki: Yuu Asakawa
Michael: Shoutaro Morikubo
Umi: Chika Sakamoto
Hideaki: Akira Ishida
Hanako Morita: Kotono Mitsuishi
Shouka Morita: Kotono Mitsuishi
Yukino Satsuki
What really clinched it for me was her role as Kaname Chidori. Not only do I love her voice, I love the power within her voice, she sure knows how to work those lungs! But as I went through a list of works by her, noting the various personalities I realised how perfect she was. I mean, she can play anything! Just check out the list! http://www.seiyuu.info/satsuki-yukino.php

This girl has worked closely with just about everyone from Gravitation. Interesting to note, she's played the love interest to all three fathers. As Kagome she's alongside Inuyasha (Kappei), as Kaname she's alongside Souske (Seki) and as Ropponmatsu2 she's alongside Dr. Gojo Shioji (Inoue - OK, so they weren't an item, but he did create her and he was a total Lolita-lovin' perve ^^).

Houko Kuwashima
I base this on her performance as Nakahito Kagura (Steel Angel Kurumi) and Minoru Kokobunji (Chobits). I am a great fan of her work, she's very skilled and her male characters never sound "put on". She has the gift to sound angelic, powerful and masculine at the same time, I especially noted this for her performance as Minoru, who's demeanor is greatly like Setsuna's.

Seiyuu wise she is familiar with working with many, if not all of the cast of Gravitation. As Sango in Inuyasha, and Yukino Satsuki as Kagome, they've proven to have great chemistry playing close friend roles.

Rie Kugimiya

Her voice is just too kawaii! Seriously, I hated Rizelmine, but I just adored listening to Rizel speak. Her cute factor is just unbelievable, she is teh Sara!

Seiyuu-wise, she has worked with various cast members. In Rizelmine her co-main character was voiced by Kappei, and a supporting member, was voiced by Rie Tanaka (Ayaka). In the one ep of Van Dread she appeared in as a dying girl, she worked closely with Seki. Burn Up Scramble also has her alongside Rie Tanaka. Rie Kugimiya is also the main character in Full Metal Alchemist, where her character comes into contact with many members of the Gravitation cast.

Yui Horie
Here's a lil list of her works, http://www.seiyuu.info/yui-horie.php . I was randomly looking through lists, and found her. The name looked very familiar, and her works definitely are.

At first glance at the list I didn't think she could be any use to me, until I came across such characters as Naru (she totally kicks ass!), and Takako (was that her name?). Yui's played many young teenaged girls, and some baddass bitch in her pallette, I feel she'd be perfect to play Himeka.

Seiyuu-wise, she worked very well with Yasunori Matsumoto, also in Love Hina as Naru's old tutor, and crush. So her playing his daughter is pretty amusing, much like with Ryuko. She'a also worked with Seki Tomokazu, and Kappei Yamaguchi in Angelic Layer. Also featured in there were Houko Kuwashima and Yukino Satsuki. Oh, and let us not forgot Fruits Basket where she bloody well worked with nearly everyone!

Yuu Asakawa
http://www.seiyuu.info/yuu-asakawa.php http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=336 I'm sporting her as Saki - I'd say it was the Jura role that rather yoinked me into it. As you can see, she can any personality - whether it be tough, cute, shy, nasty, kind, slutty - and so on. She'd suit well for off-the-wall Saki Ukai. By the way, is it me, or do a lot of her charcters look alike??

Seiyuu wise, she's mixed with a quite a few in Azumanga Daioh, Love Hina and Vandread. Just another day at the office.

Shoutaro Morikubo
He's a lesser known seiyuu, but an up-and-comer with a lot of potential. I first met him as Orphen in Sorcerous Stabber Orphen. I then met him again in his role as Iwata in Excel Saga. Something these two roles has in common is in both instances he was a friend and foe at the same time to characters played by Ryoutaro Okiayu. In Orphen he was the intelligent, quirky friend, Hartia, and in Excel Saga he was the long-suffering Watanabe.

I've often found his characterizations to be...over the top. I wasn't sure if he could handle a more relaxed role, that was until I watched all of Jungle wa Itsumo Hale nochi Guu, where he played the paranoid bodyguard, Robert. He was very restraint, and this character also had a thing for guns. And, eerily, Ryoutaro was close by, playing fellow employee, Asio. Those two playing son and father just screams RIGHT! to me.

Chika Sakamoto
An hour or so ago I was flipping through things on my computer and came across a folder of FY FMVs. I played most them, including my old fave, "Nuriko is what Nuriko is". As I enjoyed it, I relived the good times, he still remains my favourite character there. Anyway, as I enjoyed seeing all sides of Nuri-chan, mostly the comedic, it occurred to me how alike he is to Umi. That insane blend of flaky teenaged immaturity, intelligence, wisdom, violence, feminity, cockiness, tenderness, egotism, ball-bashing - oh wow, Chika would just be PERFECT!

Originally, like AGES ago I thought she'd make a great Saki, and she would, but her talents would shine better in the Umi role. Concerning seiyuu, well, she's already played a colleague of Seki and Koyasu's, why not again? Here's a list of her works: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=663

Akira Ishida
The gayest, most angelic voice in seiyuudom, who's with me lol http://www.seiyuu.info/akira-ishida.php I best know him as Xellos from Slayers, but as you can see, he's done his fair share of work. If you havn't experienced the gayness, just imagine Ryoutaro's role as Shigure, frankly it sounded JUST LIKE AKIRA!

Akira has also worked with Yasunori in Slayers, as Yasunori was Gourry Gabriev. He played Renhou in FY OVA 2, so he got to play alongside a few in Gravitation, and Chika. Let's see, he was also in DNAngel, again, he would have played alongside Seki. Oh, and there's also Naruto which also has Inoue, and Shoutaro.

I just love his voice, he's so damn adorable, and evil!

Kotono Mitsuishi

I always pictured an esteemed seiyuu for her role, someone instantly recognizable, and important to the seiyuu scene - who better suited than teh Usagi?

I've been watching a lot of Excel Saga, which has A LOT of well known seiyuu, many of them in our beloved Gravitation. While enjoying the fast talking, fast acting, fast...stupid making, of Excel, I took time to really listen to her voice. That's when it dawned on me that her voice would be best suited for Hanako, who I've always envisioned with a childlike voice, without the default generic high voice. Kotono has performed with many cast members of Gravitation several times, including in Fruits Basket, Full Metal Alchemist, Sailor Moon, Gundam Seed, Revolutionary Girl Utena, ect...

My only quiff with her is that she's actually not a good singer. ^^0 But, as with anime Ryuichi, getting a person who sings for a living wouldn't be too bad in the end.

After viewing Utena's sub, where she plays a prudent young woman named Jury, I've also decided to list her in a double role as Shouka. Because they are sisters it is a fitting move. Kotono voice lowers and matures when she acts the role of a "woman", you wouldn't even recognize her - until she say...yells?
