Yu Xing Kindergarten,
Taiwan
Dear Greg

I have put this on several websites but apparently
not yours yet.

I brought this Kindergarten an English immersion
class: books, curriculum, even some students.
Almost none of the staff even speaks English.

I then stayed there 7.30 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. Monday-
Friday, getting the kids to speak and understand
English and even to start reading.

For this, in May, I was only able to collect
NT20,000! The other NT55,000 that they owed, they
kept "because the economy is bad" (but promised to
pay it in June "if they were satisfied"). I had to
cancel the class in the middle of semester and
almost got the kids that I brought stranded there.

I am writing here because 1 of the parents there
told me that "they are bringing another foreign
teacher in June". Now they like the idea of an
English class because I showed them they can make
money with it!

If it is you: don't!

They will do what they want with your money, with
your class and with the children. They will tell
you that you have to clean the classroom, you have
to work extra hours and make materials without pay,
you have to "indemnify" them for any children who
leave the Kindergarten or bushiban, you cannot
write on the board, you have to force the children
to eat 2 bowls of food no matter how long it takes
or even if they vomit, etc. etc.

It's a headache and you will wonder from month to
month whether or not you will get any money from
it ...

I hope that you will list them to warn other
teachers.
