HISTORY OF THE JOCK
It all started about 2 years ago (holy shit, it's been 2 years already?!) when young Michael and young Christopher decided that it would be cool to each take up an instrument.  Each young rocker chose their weopon of choice, and the rest is history...They began to rock (with Michael on the drums, and Christopher rocking the guitar, later rocking the bass, as well) mostly covering some of their favorite songs (from the Foo Fighters to Incubus to The Toadies).  In the following months the two young stallions recruited a bass player extraordinaire by the name of Joshua Reed (now of Pyrocide).  These three kids practiced their little tales off, and it all payed off with Grease Jockey's first show at Our Lady of Bistrica, on July 20th, 2000.  Although billed as Anti-Festivus, the turnout was Anti-good.  THe Jock played respectivly, however, and gained a bit of confidence along the way.  This would be the last time Josh would play with us, sadly, as we recruited young Daniel to rock out with us.  More time passed, and more rock was being had.  We still covered our favorite bands (which now included Weezer, Metallica, and Green Day), but the quality of these covers were a step in the right direction.  Around winter-time of '00, Grease Jockey thought it needed a lethal dose of estrogen, thus asked young Melissa Augustine to come rock with this gangly group of boys.  Much to our surprise, she agreed to do so...IN February of 2001, we rocked out at the Hamburg High School Talent Show...We continued to rock (for the most part it was Christopher, Michael and Daniel, as Melissa had work issues...plus was way too cool for us :)) and it culminated with our best show to date...The Hamburg High School Battle of the Bands...rocking alongside such juggernauts as *F-BOMB* and Pyrocide, the Jock rocked hard...very hard.  This show saw the debut of our first original song, as we played the ever-popular "Fun Base" to a raucus group of Hamburgians.  Time passed, more rock was practiced...and then we hit a dry-spell...over the summer of 2001, we did not practice much, and the rock was thought to have been gone...oh, but that would not be the case! Beginning the school year of 2001, we began doing something that not many people (including Michael, Christopher and Daniel) thought would be done...we began writing our own songs!  We perfected these tunes and in the early part of 2002, we recorded our debut demo, with the help of Brian from Pyrocide...the overall reaction we got from this has been very positive, and on February 23rd, 2002 we played at Lakeshore Middle School, we showcased our ability to rock, and played our best show to date...but, hark! the future is bright for the jock...expect to see many more shows, some more rock, some more cds...and most importantly, some more love for those who support young Michael, young Christopher, and young Daniel...peace out, much love...
