1960 Imperial LeBaron

Photo Gallery

Main reason I like this car is because it is almost indestructable.  The strength of these cars were well known at demolition derbies.  These cars were so destructive that in many places they were outlawed.  About the only thing that could put one out of commission was another LeBaron.  Along with eight inch high tail fins, this car had tail lights made to resemble jet exausts.  People have been known to get seriously injured by the tail lights alone (In 1963, a motercycilist collided with the back of a LeBaron and was impaled on a fin.  No joke.)  And they were BIG.  For comparison with new cars, especially so-called liftbacks with extra cargo space, the trunk of the LeBaron could hold 59.5 cubic feet of cargo, while seating six and the trunk compleatly closed.  What a great car.  All specs are for the 1960 LeBaron, because it would have been way to much work to put specs for all years.  The first Imerials were made in 1931, and continued untill 1975.  You should find a good selection of different years in my photo gallery.
