In 1955 Ford introduced a hot-shot two-seat sporty car, not exactly a sports car but snazzier that and everyday passanger car. Its name--THUNDERBIRD! Ther car was only made for three years as a two seater, after that it grew to a four seater. This car started a cult following that continues to today. In 1957 the bird offered some optional power packages. There was the dual quads, often refered to as an E-bird, ans a single four barrel with turbo, which was called the F-bird. And the Bird had the guns to match her looks. The standered Bird was a hardtop with a removeable roof to make an open car...not a convertable. The convertable top was an option. But ordering the convertable didn't mean the hardtop came automaticly with the car. You had to order it seperetly. |
