Excerpts from a Letter from Maria C. Montante to Brother Peter Caprari (Italian Christian Church, Pittston):
"The churches built by our ancestors are the strong points and source of pride to our residents. We are asking the cooperation of church leaders to assemble the history of their church along with pictures of the past and present and to display them in an area that is visible upon entering the church. The information and pictures will be collected in early July for the purpose of compiling same in an updated history of the city. All original photos will be returned to your possession.
"The committee is working with the Greater Pittston Ecumenical Council in formulating plans to hold a service in one of our churches in the early fall. Plans for a walking tour of our beautiful churches are also being considered."
