Great Ouseburn has a thriving Neighbourhood Watch overseen by Mr Peter Naylor.  He has forged close links with the local police.

Spring brings with it the opportunities for thieves to seize the chance to make off with property from our homes and gardens as we turn our backs gardening, clearing out garages and sheds etc. It only takes a minute or two for a thief to turn a moment's lapse on our part to his/her advantage. If you are working outside in the garden, you should secure your home by closing windows and locking doors which cannot be seen from where you are. And when you nip inside for a cup of tea, please ensure your gardening equipment and garage contents are secure.

Too often we hear of lawnmowers, ladders, tools and even vehicles being stolen whilst the owner is enjoying that "quick cup of tea"
