Night Fall

Drip Drop

Down falls the blood

From her severed wrist

She looks around

Searching for help

But once more no one is there

So now it was a choice

The ultimate choice it seemed

The one she fought over every day

In her mind Battling her secrets Life or Death

Once more she would chose life

But in her game

She will never win

For each risk she takes

Brings her closer to the end

And soon all her game cards will run out

Another battle she fought

Was the one she dare not even dream

The choice of Love

The possibility never there

She was alone

Surrounded by others

She awakens in the morning

Dreading the explanation

Dreading the clean-up

But all the same

She pulls over her long sleeved shirt

And starts a new day

No one ever noticed

Of course no one ever looked

Maybe it’s not so great

To be trusted

When all you want

Is to be found out

Again night falls

She battles with the silver blade once more

Giving up one more card

Giving up one more tear

She dreads the morning

Because it’s all the same
