Eleftherios Venizelos Airport (Athens Airport) is connected 24h a day to Athens through:

Express Bus Line X93 connects the Airport to Kifissos Bus Station. Estimated time is 65 minutes. A single trip ticket costs € 3.20. More information can be found at www.oasa.gr. In the same site you will find links for all the Public Transport Operators (on the left side), in case that you would like to stay around in Athens.

Express Bus Line X95 connects the Airport to Syntagma Square (Athens center). Estimated time is 70 minutes.

Other Express Lines connect the Airport to Kifisia at northern suburbs (X92), Ethniki Amyna in Athens (X94), Piraeus port (X96) and Dafni at southern suburbs (X97). For more details on these you can check at www.oasa.gr. All tickets are at € 3.20 one way.

The Metro Line (www.ametro.gr). Several maps are in the site in pdf form, with all necessary information, including exhibitions of archaeological findings during Metro construction works. Departures for the Airport are scheduled approximately every 30 minutes seven days a week. First train from the Airport is at 06.30 and the last at 23.30. The first train from Syntagma to the Airport is at 05.38 and the last at 22.59. Single trip cost is € 6.00 or € 5.00 when you get group ticket (€ 10.00 for two persons or € 15.00 for three).

The Train Line (www.proastiakos.gr). Unfortunately the site seems to be only in Greek for the time being, but information on time schedules, ticket fares etc. can be found through previous sites. This line is considerably slower than the Metro Line and doesn’t reach downtown Athens (you have to change to Metro Line at Neratziotissa). Therefore is not advisable for connecting to the city destinations, though it can be very useful for other destinations outside the city. A single trip ticket connecting the Airport with the major station at Neratziotissa is € 6.00. The same ticket can be used to continue with the Metro Line.

Normal fare for Metro Lines (Line 1, 2 & 3) is € 0.80. Bus and trolley bus tickets for going around in Athens are € 0.50 each. The Tram Line (Routes 3, 4 & 5) ticket costs € 0.60 (www.tramsa.gr, no English again, sorry!) and connects mainly the center of Athens with the port (Piraeus) and southern suburbs. There is also a € 2.90 ticket that can be used for all the urban transportation in Athens, for 24 hours. This ticket allows only ONE connection to the Airport. From Piraeus there are a vast number of ships connecting with the Greek islands and other Mediterranean countries (Cyprus, Turkey, Italy etc.). There several commercial sites with information, like www.ferries.gr, www.greekferries.gr etc.
