Skill Builders:
1. Learned signs and causes of stress from info from a Clinical Psychologist friend that I drag in from time to time, and further info from the internet.
2. Learned relaxation techniques and tried to fall asleep at that meeting!
3. Did the activity where you check your pulse relaxing, then try to work yourself up into a tizzy (I had them argue with each other on a topic they always argue about anyway!) and take your pulse again...
4. ...I forget!
Technology:
5. Each girl made a tape of music she found relaxing, and we played them at a lodge camping trip
Service Project:
6. Girls either
a. Served as tutors at their schoool or
b. Made a list of stress management programs in our area for teens
Career Explorations:
7. Learned about the different counseling careers (psychologist,
psychiatrist, clinical social worker etc), what types of services each provides and the training required, what type of environment they work in.

Skill Builders:
SB #1: Discussed with a nurse how human body responds to stress. Discussed with girls about what happens to them.
SB #2: Did several relaxation techniques at our meeting, now if we only had pillows we could have had a good nap!!! :)
SB #4: At one meeting we each practiced giving each other hand, shoulder and neck massages! We decided we could all wait till after bath time to do foot massages on our family members. Another wonderful meeting!!!
SB #6: One girl takes ballet and pointe and did this requirement using ballet techniques. Another girl takes kickboxing and met the requirements through that.
Technology:
T #2: Discussed the advantages and disadvantages of technology in today's society. We agreed that computers are helpful but can also be addictive/enslaving and it has both positive and negative effects on our lives.
SP #3: We contacted local area organizations about the stress management programs offered and found that only one was offered and only for it's employees.
