FISHING REPORTS

Northern have begun to bite from shore on Devils Lake.  They seem to be biting where ever there is open water.  Northern are also biting on Sakakawea from shore.  They are biting on smelt.  The best spots to fish these northern are in any bays with open water.  I was just at Deepwater Bay on Friday, and there wasn't very much open water anywhere, but after those rainy and windy days the ice should begin to go off soon.

Anglers have been catching some walleyes on Devils Lake.  Most of the eyes are small right now, but some people are reporting some nice ones.  Haven't had many reports about northern.  I don't know how long the ice will hold up there after this rain and wind.  Be careful if you venture onto the ice.

Walleye are beginning to pick up on the Missouri River around Bismarck.  Most people are catching them on jigs or live bait rigs.  The fish are in the twenty foot range.  They are reporting that the majority of fish are on the small side.

Fishing has continued to be great at alkali lake for perch.  People are reporting on catching hundreds of perch.  The bite has been going on there for some time now, don't know how long it will continue.  The warm weather should begin to open some lakes pretty soon.
