“ I don’t want you to do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing. If you like I’ll go back to his office and tell him the deal is off.” “ That’s not necessary , I’m already here. Might as well get this over with.” “ Are you sure you’re ok with this?” “ Yeah, I’ll be fine.” “ So, what time does the plane leave?” “ We’re not leaving till tomorrow.” “ Then why am I here?” “ You’re father told me that you wanted to meet here.” “ What my father told me was that plane was leaving today.” “ Apparently we’ve both been lied too.” “ I’d say so.” “ If you want, you can stay over my house tonight. It’ll make it a whole lot easier for when we leave tomorrow.” “ Sure, ok.” “ Here let me help you with your things.” he said retrieving the bags that I was holding. “ Thanks.” On the way over to his house I couldn’t help but to think about the dream I had before Alex woke me up. From how I looked in the dream, it seemed to me that I looked happy as if nothing in my life was wrong or ever had been wrong. The person whom I was talking to seemed to be the most sweetest person I’ve ever met. In retrospect, I can’t remember what he looked nor what his name was due to the fact that I woke up as he was about to tell me. The dream to me felt so real, as if I were really there with him sitting along the beach watching our two dogs play with each other. By the way we talked to each other felt like we knew each other forever. With all the dreams I’ve had all through out my life, this one stood out from the rest leaving me wondering why and with what purpose does it have me feeling this way. It wasn’t so much that it felt so real, it was the feeling it gave me. A feeling that in so indescribable that no matter how hard you try to resolve the feeling it gave you, you’ll never find it. The purpose of why I had this dream boggles my mind. It was the kind of dream that I never dream nor think about the kind of situation that took place in the dream. However, the sad part about it is that is was all a dream. A dream on my behalf that I know for a fact that won’t come true or ever will come true. Like the rest of my life, I’ll just have to move on but yet not forget about it. As I laid my head back on the head rest of his car, I couldn’t help but to feel hurt about how my father lied to me. Although he didn’t only lie to me, he lied to Alex as well. But to put me in a situation that I wasn’t interested in he made sure of it that he had his way and got what he wanted even if that meant business coming before family. If there something odd about this, it was the fact that my mother had no saying in this. Did she even know about this offer, and that I’ll be gone for 18 weeks? Why worry about something like this when no one else is worrying about it? As I looked at the side mirror that sat outside car, I noticed that with every turn and stop Alex made, so was the person behind us. The view from the lights made it unable for me to see the person behind the wheel. “ I think there’s someone following us.” I stated. “ Oh it’s just Nick. He wanted to be the first to meet you.” “ Really?” “ Yeah, don’t ask me why.” “ That’s strange.” “ Whenever we get to the house, he’s gonna drive us back to the airport to get your car.” “ I could’ve driven it from there to here you know.” “ I know you could’ve, but you looked too tired to drive and I just wanted to help out a bit.” “ Is this where you live?” I asked as he pulled up in front of a enormous two story house. “ Yeah.” “ It’s beautiful.” “ Thanks, it’s livable that’s all that matters to me.” he said turning off the engine. “ I’ll take your things inside and you go ahead and introduce yourself to Nick.” “ Ok, but are you sure you don’t need any help? I have a lot of luggage.” “ Nah, I can handle.” He said nearly dropping my bags. “ It’s cool, I got everything under control.” “ Here, let me give you a hand.” I said retrieving some of the suitcases he was holding. “ Thanks.” he said shyly. “ So I take it your friend is too shy too get off and introduce himself to me.” “ You’ll have to excuse him, when it comes to meeting girls he’s usually always shy about introducing himself.” “ I hope he’s not always like that.” “ Nah, he’s a whole lot of fun once you get to know him.” “ That’s nice.” “ I can take it from here.” “ Are you sure?” “ Yeah, I’ll just meet you out front when I’m done.” “ Ok,” I said as I began to make my way out the door but turned around. “ Thanks Alex.” “ No problem.” With a smile upon my face and the anger almost completely gone, I began to then make my way over to his friend whom was still sitting in his car. Not knowing exactly what to say to him other than my name, I took a deep breath as he then stepped out of his car. As our eyes met, my movement towards him stopped causing my mouth to drop. There stood the guy whom was staring at me at the airport with a beautiful smile upon his face. While I stood there in shock, he began to make his way towards me as I my body began to get very weak. With him looking like a million dollars, all I could think of doing was returning the smile. “ It’s not everyday I get a response like that.” he laughed. “ I’m sorry, I don’t know what got over me.” I smiled. “ I guess I was kinda shocked to see you here.” “ My name is Nick and you are?” “ Michelle.” “ That’s a beautiful name.” he smiled. “ It’s nice to meet you Michelle.” “ Likewise.” “ I know I should’ve done that at the airport, but I just didn’t think of it.” “ From what I saw, you were too busy looking at me than to even think about that.” “ True, true.” he laughed. “ You guys ready to go?” AJ said closing the front door then locking it. “ Yeah,” I sighed. “ I am so ready for this day to be over with.” “ Ok then, lets go.” said Nick, as we all took our seats in his car to head back to the airport to pick up my car. |
